Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan reiterated on Thursday that a targeted operation will be conducted in Karachi.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Nisar said the operation should be supported by judiciary adding that it would be led by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced he will convene a cabinet meeting in Karachi to discuss ways to tackle violence and lawlessness in the city which will also be attended by the provincial governor and chief minister.
The interior minister informed the National Assembly that calling army in Karachi would be against the mandate of Sindh government and injustice with the military.
Nisar added that the army could be called in after having consensus with all the stakeholders.
The interior minister further said he will also discuss the matter with Sindh chief minister and governor during his visit to Karachi on Tuesday.
