Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is reported to have curtailed his visit to the United States from five to three days, cancelling at least two major engagements in the process.
Reports from Washington said the prime minister has dropped plans to visit Chicago where he was to address a gathering of Pakistani-American community - a ritual every top Pakistani figure has followed for decades.
Minister of Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told reporters here on Wednesday that the prime minister will take a small team with him and travel in a smaller plane. On October 22, the prime minister will meet US President Barack Obama at the White House.
