Pakistan town goes without water for fortnight
Over 200,000 residents of a town in Pakistan's Sindh province have been without water for the past 15 days as the water supply was stopped due to maintenance work at a canal.
The daily Dawn reported on Friday that many poor families can be seen begging for a bucket of water.
Officials said the main reason for scarcity of water is suspension of water supply from Kazia Wah (canal), which has shut for maintenance.
People have appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of their problem and redress their grievances at the earliest.
