Pakistani pop star Abrar-ul-Haq was stopped at Dubai airport today morning because he was not carrying valid travel papers, confirmed a spokesperson from Pakistan Consulate, Dubai.
Haq was said to have left his original passport in Pakistan. The spokesperson said that he had been stopped at the airport but was not detained.
"We have submitted a letter requesting that he be allowed to stay in the country until his papers arrive by evening," said the spokesperson.
"It depends on the UAE authorities if they want to allow him to enter the country on the basis of our letter."
Currently, Abrar is also associated with Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
