The list of 2017's most ignorant countries is out and some names might surprise you.
The Perils of Perception 2017 study by Ipsos MORI assessed the perception of 29,133 people globally on topics regarding their nation among others. The topics included vaccination, diabetes, teenage pregnancy, terrorism among others. 
And, the top five ignorant countries according to the study are South Africa, Brazil, the Phillippines, Peru and India.

Highlights from the India survey:

1. Indians think that 64 per cent of all Indians aged 13+ have a Facebook account when actually only 8 per cent do.  
2. 44 per cent of Indians believed that "some vaccines cause autism in healthy children".
3. Indians overestimated the number of people with diabetes to 47 per cent of the population but only 9 per cent have. 
Among the nationals most accurate about their country are Sweden, followed by Norway and Denmark.

The survey is conducted in 38 countries around the world, via the Ipsos Online Panel system in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Great Britain, and the USA. The following countries used either online or face-to-face methodologies: Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway and Serbia.
