The authorities on Thursday said they have arrested an Indian national said to be in active service of India's spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), in the latest evidence to back Islamabad's claim that neighbouring country is actively trying to destabilise Pakistan.
He was identified as Kalbhushan Yadev, a commander in Indian Navy. Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti confirmed the arrest from near Balochistan's Chaman area on border with Afghanistan.
Bugti said that Yadev has been flown to Islamabad for further interrogation. He said Yadev has confessed having indulged in recruiting agents from Balochistan and Karachi and transporting them to Afghanistan for training in subversive activities.
"The spy had links with separatist elements in Balochistan," he said. The official added that the individual was also involved in acts of sectarian terrorism and terror attacks in Karachi.
