The directive was made in his speech to the nation to mark the National Action Charter day which was celebrated in Bahrain on February 14. The King also gave directives to distribute 2,981 housing units this year among citizens.

Campaign to promote Shaikh Khalid Horse Race Cup

Bahrain gets ready to host the Shaikh Khalid Horse Race Cup for the Disabled festival this month with a nationwide campaign to promote the event.

The festival’s personality “Kahilan” ( an Arabian horse type ) has visited the camping area that is opened for camping at this time of the year as well as shopping mall to inform the public about the event.

The campaign will also covers schools and centres for special needs, in which the festival aims to promote disabled to achieve their dreams and be active and productive in society.

As part of the festival “Shine” competition was announced early this month in association with the University of Bahrain. Winners of the contest will be exempted from first-stage university fees or given BD500 cash prizes.

Manama the capital of Arab creativity

Minister of State for Information Affairs, Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab, has expressed delight on Manama being choosen the capital of Arab creativity and entrepreneurs 2014, the first Arab capital to carry the title of creativity and entrepreneurship.

She said the 2014 World Entrepreneurs Forum put Bahrain and its partners on the right track towards implementing the concepts of sustainable development and the associated projects, affirming this international Forum will be a platform where entrepreneurial ideas and initiatives will be showcased.

Education minister attends e-Learning exhibition

Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi attended the e-Learning Exhibition, 2014, organised by the King Hamad’s Schools of the Future Project Directorate at Bahrain City Centre, under the theme of “Towards e-Learning” last week. The minister toured the exhibition which included a number of the best applications and experiences in e-learning that were provided by eight boys and girls schools from various grades.

The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors and students who were informed about the schools’ experience in offering educational materials electronically.

Dr Al Nuaimi praised the King Hamad’s Schools of the Future Project which is a landmark step towards developing education in the Kingdom of Bahrain specially the electronic shift through the conversion to e-books and expanding communication among parents, students and school administrations through the electronic system.
