In a series of tweets, Mads, a volunteer affiliated with MSF (Doctors Without Borders) and Crisis Aid UK, shared the story of the Pink Mosque - Masjid Dimaukom in the Philippines' far south. According to Mads, the mosque was built in 2014 and located in the city of Datu Saudi Ampatuan in Maguindanao.
Construction of the mosque was financed by the town's late mayor Samsodin Dimaukon.

According to Mads, the mosque was painted it's bright pink colour to symbolise peace, love, unity and interfaith brotherhood.
