It was a narrow escape for a father and son in China after an escalator crashed seconds before they stepped off the stairway.
The video shows a man with his son on an escalator at a mall in Xuancheng located in China's Anhui province. The little boy is seen getting off the escalator first as his father follows.
However, within seconds the escalator crashes. The duo is left shocked as the moving stairway collapses in front of their eyes.
"The metal panels of the escalator can also be seen colliding into one another. A man at the bottom of the stairway is seen switching the device off," the NDTV reported.
The incident was reported on July 28. Following an inspection, Xuancheng Market Supervision Bureau had said that the mishap happened because of a key that was stuck in the escalator's guide rail.
