Video: Weatherman goes off air during live show after hurricane hits TV station

The evacuation of a TV station because of the damage caused by Hurricane Florence forced a weatherman to walk off a live show.
Meteorologist Donnie Cox ended up leaving the TV station located in North Carolina, after the hurricane posed a danger of rising level in the floodwater, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The streets of the city of New Bern in North Carolina were also reported to overflow resulting in evacuations. Roads in its vicinity were flooded as well. 
The meteorologist reportedly stayed back at the TV station to keep the residents updated about Hurricane Florence and was one of the last people to been evacuated from there.
He was forced to leave the building barely 20 minutes after having started the show as he reported the situation becoming difficult at the TV station with the floodwater levels rising close to the building.
Another TV station (WCTI) documented the entire episode when the weatherman announced the evacuation of the venue, and then went off air - with the TV viewers left to see the storm graphic in the background. The cameras kept rolling even as he walked out of the shot.

Meanwhile, a mother and her infant were killed when a tree fell on their house in Wilmington, North Carolina, the first reported fatalities from Hurricane Florence, police said.
Wilmington police tweeted that the father was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Hurricane Florence made landfall near Wilmington on Friday morning, battering the coastal city with strong winds and torrential rain.
After coming ashore in North Carolina as a Category 1 hurricane, Florence downgraded to a tropical storm on Friday afternoon and trudged into South Carolina later in the night, reports CNN.
