According to reports in the Pakistani press earlier in the day, Sattar had also announced the first Overseas Pakistanis Policy. They said that the policy would be announced on November 30 in London. Two housing schemes would also be announced for overseas Pakistanis, the reports added.
Sattar also suggested that overseas Pakistanis be allocated seats in National and Provincial assemblies.
He also said the Taleban were behind the unrest in Karachi, and the country wanted answers from local police about the recent troubles. Rangers and the police force deputed in the city should be held accountable.
“We are trying to bring the situation under control,” he told the community gathering at Global Village.
The event was organised by the Pakistan Pavilion at Global Village.
“Being one of the biggest pavilions in Global Village, we bring entertainment in the form of stage performances on Pakistan culture and a mega exhibition where almost 110 exhibitors display Pakistani products every year,” said organiser Hasan Tahir Sidddiqui.
The minister paid homage to overseas Pakistanis and toured the pavilion.
