The Kuwait Oil Company, KOC, said on Wednesday that its fire-fighting teams are making ongoing efforts to put out the fire at the crude oil driller in northern Kuwait.
Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, quoted KOC official spokesman, Saad Rashed Al-Azmi, as saying that roads leading to northern regions and oil fields are "safe", and that the reading of emitted gas "is assuring and the thick gas is caused by putting out the blaze".
On Tuesday, the Environmental Public Authority in Kuwait said that the gases caused by the fire contained no hazardous elements.
The EPA also said that it had been monitoring the situation since the fire eruption.
