Why 361 expats were arrested in Oman this month

361 expat workers were arrested in Oman this month, according to the announcement by the Ministry of Manpower in Oman. 
242 commercial workers, 50 agricultural workers and 60 housemaids were among the arrested, reported Times of Oman.
"After an investigation, it was found that] 232 of them were absconding workers, 105 were laid-off workers and 18 of them had no official documents," the newspaper quoted the ministry.  
In the same month, 458 illegal expats were deported for violating the residence and other ministerial laws.
