SHARJAH - The total volume of containers handled by ports in the emirate of Sharjah stood at 2.4 million 20-foot (TEU) equivalent units during year 2008, achieving an impressive 25 per cent growth over the preceding year, revealed the figures issued by the Sharjah Sea Ports and Customs Department.
