DUBAI - Dubai Municipality has concluded the construction of a pedestrian bridge at Al Qusais as part of a Dh17.5 million project to construct five new pedestrian bridges in various parts of the city to ensure the safety of pedestrians and facilitate their movement.

Worker dies in accident

SHARJAH - An Asian labourer died on Sunday after a serious blow to the head while he was at work in a factory in Industrial Area No. 3 in Sharjah. The labourer was using a cutting and packaging machine when the accident occurred. He was rushed to hospital where he died.

HCT to add eight new courses

DUBAI - The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) will launch eight new programmes for the academic year 2004-2005 starting from September 2004. The new programmes were approved recently by the HCT Governing Council chaired by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology.
