No drugs packed in the shape of candies are being sold in Sharjah, the police have affirmed.

The police said there have been rumours on social media with a picture showing a candy purportedly containing a drug and being consumed by students.
According to the rumours, the candy is available in all supermarkets and groceries in the country, which is untrue.

He said social media users must not encourage circulation of such rumours before they confirm it from the authorities concerned to avoid legal action.

The police are vigilant of any illegal drugs that could enter the country, he added. He urged parents, and school managements to inform the police if they find any kind of suspicious candy with children.
